McKinnon to chair Esperance Port Board

Former Austal and Fleetwood executive director, Bob McKinnon has been appointed chairman of the Board of Directors of Esperance Ports Sea and Land.

Transport Minister Simon O'Brien said brings with him a wealth of financial knowledge and corporate experience spanning 40 years.

Mr McKinnon previously worked as the managing director of Fleetwood Corporation and chief operating officer at Austal.

Stefan Frodsham has also been appointed as a new board member.

Mr O'Brien acknowledged the invaluable support afforded to the port and extended his appreciation to existing director Tim Shanahan who fulfilled the role of acting chairman for seven months and who continues to hold the position of deputy chairman.

Transport Minister Simon O'Brien today announced new appointments to the Board of Directors of Esperance Ports Sea and Land.

Mr Robert (Bob) McKinnon has been appointed as the board's new chair.

Mr McKinnon brings with him a wealth of financial knowledge and corporate experience spanning 40 years, most recently holding the position of non-executive director of Bankwest, while continuing in the role of managing director of Fleetwood Corporation Limited.

Mr Stefan Frodsham has also been appointed as a new board member. Mr Frodsham will replace Phil Thick, who recently retired from the board. Mr O'Brien paid tribute to him for his role in assisting the board through challenging times.

Mr Frodsham has considerable experience in strategic management, environmental, business planning and project experience over a 25-year career, including a tenure as chief executive officer with the Broome Port Authority from 1998 to 2005.

The Minister acknowledged the invaluable support afforded to the port and extended his appreciation to existing director Tim Shanahan who fulfilled the role of acting chairman for seven months and who continues to hold the position of deputy chairman.
