Former West Australian cabinet minister Norm Marlborough has escaped gaol time but received a $12,500 fine after being found guilty of giving false evidence to the Corruption and Crime Commission in 2006.
The charges against the 64-year-old relate to conversations between him and disgraced former Western Australia premier Brian Burke.
The fine must be paid within two months.
