Mandurah’s Brighton Hotel sold

The Brighton Hotel in Mandurah has been purchased by a Perth-based syndicate for more than $3 million.

CBRE brokered the deal on behalf of local publican Garry Miller for the purpose-built tavern and restaurant, which sits on a 1,300 square metre landholding overlooking the estuary on Mandurah Terrace.

The venue includes a restaurant, rear public bar, courtyard and upstairs function area.

CBRE hotels investment WA director Ryan McGinnity said the property was sold for just more than $3 million, and that it was an opportune time for the purchaser to take over the venue.

The hotel will now be operated by the Hutchen family’s Mandurah Group, which additionally runs the Bridge Bar and Brasserie and the Red Manna Waterfront restaurant, both in Mandurah. 

“The operator foresees a repositioning of the hotel and plan on reopening of the waterfront venue once plans are finalised and trading restrictions lifted,” Mr McGinnity said.

“The Brighton Hotel is well established and was generating a consistent weekly revenue prior to its closure on the back of the COVID-19 restrictions; it’s expected to quickly regain traction as tourists and holiday homeowners flock to Mandurah over the July school holidays and months ahead, as lockdowns ease and venue capacities start to increase.”

Mr McGinnity added that the deal was the first walk-in, walk-out pub sale in Western Australia since the closure of venues on March 23.
