Mandurah contract

TWO new contracts, worth a total of $4.1 million, have been awarded for a 39-unit chalet park and a new footbridge at Mandurah’s $58 million Ocean Marina development project.

Mandurah builder JM&ED Moore has secured a $2.9 million contract to build a family chalet park, and Bocol Constructions WA Pty Ltd will build the $1.2 million footbridge linking the marina’s two harbours.

Mandurah MLA David Templeman said the success of JM&ED Moore was a big win for Mandurah. He said a prime goal of the marina project was to help boost employment and the local economy, and that this contract would help achieve that goal.

“It also shows that local companies can compete for major competitive tenders and win,” he said.

Planning and Infrastructure minister Alannah MacTiernan said the specially designed footbridge would link the north and south harbour developments and provide direct access between Mandurah’s cultural and business districts and the main marina area.

“It will also double as a spectacular viewing platform, offering views across the marina to the ocean,” she said.
