Ingres Corporation, the leading business open source database company, today announced that it has fully acquired Management Information Systems (MIS), a Perth based total solutions provider in open systems environment, for an undisclosed sum.

The acquisition allows Ingres fast track access to technology presales and consulting services skills both in Perth and across the rapidly growing business. In addition, MIS will provide expertise in implementation and development in enterprise resource planning, HR, payroll and asset management business processes on Ingres technologies.

Stuart Pike, vice president of Ingres Australia and New Zealand, said, "Management and employees of MIS will join Ingres, lifting the total number of our employees to 32 in ANZ. We now have an established pre and post sales, service delivery and development team based in Perth, which will be run by Chris Wallace, general manager of Ingres WA, formerly of MIS to add to our Sydney, Melbourne and Auckland Offices, all set up in the last 14 months. We are very excited to have another strong team joining our business."

"We chose MIS because of its established expertise in commercial and government sector which continues to be key focus for Ingres in ANZ and our commitment to keep building and enabling our partner channel. By the end of 2007, we will have tripled the business in ANZ since 2006 so our rapid expansion is a response to our customers demand for outcome based service offerings which are aligned with their business needs."

Management Information Systems was founded in 1995. Through business alliances with Oracle, Ingres Corporation and Microsoft for database, and an integrated best-of-breed application suite of solutions consisting of Prophecy Financial Management, Empower Human Resource Management and FMMS Maintenance Management Systems, MIS has been able to satisfy the core business management information system requirements of companies spanning all market sectors. Ingres is committed to the ongoing support and growth of the MIS product and service model that delivers business solutions with the enterprise strength organisations need.
