Mining contractor MACA has received a letter of intent from Regis Resources to provide mining services at the Rosemont gold project near Laverton.

MACA said the $220 million formal contract award remained subject to a number of conditions, including completion of feasibility studies, and regulatory and shareholder approvals.

MACA currently provides mining services for Regis at its Moolart Well and Garden Well projects, also in the Duketon gold province near Laverton.

“We are very proud to be associated with the continued success and growth of Regis and we looking forward to continuing to support them in delivering their third project,’ MACA operations director Geoff Baker said.

MACA will provide various civil works and open pit mining services at Rosemont, with mobilisation expected to begin in February.

At close of trade today, MACA shares were up 2.3 per cent, trading at $2.17.
