Mining contractor MACA has announced its tenure at the Laverton gold project has been extended to May 2014.
MACA has been providing Focus Minerals, the majority owner of the Laverton project, with drilling and blasting, and load and haul services since September 2009.
It is expected that the extension of the contract will generate around $45 million in revenue for MACA.
MACA recently announced that Regis Resources intended to grant it a mining services contract worth around $220 million over five years.
The contract would see MACA supply civil works and open pit mining services at Regis’ proposed Rosemount gold project, located north of Laverton.
