Lucon success

WITH three fabrication workshops, a national construction operation and an international parent, Lucon (Australia) Pty Ltd is a strong proponent of industrial success in the South West .

Starting its operations from a small workshop in Bunbury in the early l990s, Lucon has established itself as a leading fabrication and erection company through its modular fabrication and erection techniques.

The company constructed the $80 million SR2 synthetic rutile plant for Westralian Sands at Capel, fabricated large tanks and flues for the Collie Power Station and is currently fabricating and erecting works for the third train expansion at Worsley Alumina.

Early success resulted in the building of a 1,400 square metre workshop in Bunbury, containing two five-tonne overhead cranes, together with mobile cranes from Lucon’s fleet.

A large moveable enclosure allows abrasive blasting and painting of large components.

“The fabrication and transport of large preassembled modules dir-ectly to our clients’ sites sets us apart,” Lucon area manager Gavin Davis said. “We have the capacity to work with our clients to maximise component sizes and preassembly in a controlled workshop environment without compromising safety, quality or cost.”
