Two Western Australian-based technology companies were recognised last month at the national Consensus software awards for Australian software developers.

Perth-based WebSpy Ltd received the software award for its ‘Vantage’ log analysis application.

The software allows users to import and analyse log files against any type of internet security device, within a single system.

WebSpy territory manager Chris Ingram said the technology was relevant to corporate environments, allowing internet and email usage to be monitored, as well as facilitating more complex tasks, such as monitoring web traffic through portals.

Mr Ingram said the Vantage system would also allow incoming data and traffic within a network to be monitored, and could be used to ensure the effectiveness and efficiency of an organisation’s network.

Perth-based software developer HarvestRoad was a finalist in the competition, recognised for its digital repository system, HarvestRoad Hive.

The system is a back-end application that acts as a search engine for users within an organisation, but is password protected to ensure intellectual property is maintained.
