When it comes to corporate funding for the arts, WASO punches well above its weight. The state’s symphony orchestra has just re-signed three of its major corporate partners – Emirates Airline, Ernst & Young and Wesfarmers – for another term. Emirates has been WASO’s principal partner since 2003, and has confirmed its support to the end of 2010. Long-running partner Ernst & Young has renewed its partnership to 2009, while Wesfarmers has agreed to continue its sponsorship of the chief conductor’s role when British conductor, Paul Daniel, takes the reins in January 2009.
