Lighter Note: Minti-ing money

The Note knows, from experience, that parenting can be a costly business, so it was with some interest that we heard about Perth-based social network Minti offering cash rewards for contributions. The site, which is dedicated to parenting advice, has decided to get into virtual banking to a certain degree, inventing its own virtual currency called Minti Moolah to allow members who introduce the site to their mates, fill out survey forms or contribute as authors to make purchases from the site. Enthusiastic Minti co-founder Clay Cook (pictured) said the currency could be bought using PayPal and, importantly, be cashed out for real dollars via the same system
