Leederville Oval, which has been the home ground of several WAFL clubs, has been renamed as part of a three-year sponsorship deal.

The City of Vincent has signed a sponsorship and naming rights agreement with Perth company Sullivan Logistics to rename the Leederville Oval as Sullivan Logistics Stadium.

Under the deal, Sullivan Logistics will have naming and sponsorship rights for three years with an additional two-year extension.

The oval was initially home to the West Perth Football Club and has since been the training grounds of East Perth and Subiaco football clubs.

The sponsorship deal is valued at $120,000, indexed by CPI annually, according to city council documents.

Sullivan Logistics managing director Tim Sullivan said the company was a proud family-owned business from Western Australia.

“That’s why we’re proud to put the Sullivan Logistics name to Leederville Oval in support of the City of Vincent, East Perth and Subiaco football clubs, alongside our major sponsorship of the WAFL men’s and women’s competitions – helping to grow our communities by growing the game,” he said.

“We’re excited to see the new Sullivan Logistics Stadium logo up in lights at Leederville Oval early in the new year and for the start of the football season.

“Not only is the oval steeped in football success and tradition, being on the edge of the city provides great accessibility and it is a such friendly ground to visit.

“The town was abuzz for the 2022 WAFL Grand Final and we would love to see events of this scale bring the city and the stadium to life like it did that day.”

City of Vincent Mayor Alison Xamon said this was a landmark agreement between the city, Sullivan Logistics and the East Perth and Subiaco football clubs.

“Leederville Oval is one of Perth’s largest WAFL venues and has successfully held a Grand Final and many major matches since its inception in 1915,” she said.

“Sullivan Logistics is a great supporter of grassroots football, and we are happy to work with them to make the oval thrive under its new name for years to come.”

The Leederville Oval was formerly branded as Medibank Stadium from 2006 to 2016.
