Lead singer

Some companies do the oddest things and The Note often wonders whether to admire the cultural quirkiness or cringe with embarrassment.

We are still torn by the discovery that David Flanagan’s (pictured) Atlas Iron has its own theme song, which the team belts out at various locations in WA. An operative of The Note has actually seen this, in real life. Try it yourself to the tune of ‘Let it be’ by the Beatles.

When-they mine their wealth in finds in Pardoo

Atlas makes a mark and more

Shipping off from Hedland, iron ore

And it wasn’t always easy going

Challenges are there for sure

We worked our way to wisdom, iron ore.

Iron ore, what we saw

Bloody bewdy, that’s for sure

Working as a unit, iron ore

And then those bigger disbelievers

Thought we never had the core

Of people to make it happen, we were sure

We showed ’em that we had the passion

Working as a team and more

Atlas will be the winner, ore galore

Iron ore, that’s score

From-head-office-to-the-drivers-door

We-have the will to win-win, iron ore

Iron ore, to the fore

Great team spirit, more in store

There’ll-be a bright tomorrow, iron ore.

Iron ore, iron ore.

Atlas sure, we-all are-for

Our-team can make it happen, iron ore.

Iron ore, iron ore

Bloody bewdy, that’s for sure

We are all for one and one for all.
