Lady lures revellers

MEAD’S of Mosman Bay has added the 76ft long Moonlight Lady to its long list of attractions with special appeal to business houses as the festive season approaches.

I witnessed a no less than perfect business celebration where Moonlight Lady had loaded a group of 16 aboard at Barrack Street to enjoy a sail in the sunshine, entrees and bubbles to Mead’s at Mosman Bay. There, a table awaited them for a long seafood lunch with gifts on each seat.

THE budget price conscious ladies have come out for Festive Season lunches and some tend to frustrate restaurant staff with their demands for individual bills, so much so that the bulk of restaurateurs won’t accept time-wasting accounts

One group of diners gathered at the Como Hotel last week and rightfully did their accounting at the table working out who drank wine and which person ate what, they dividing the account accordingly.

A party member went as far as she could to keep the budget in place.

After noticing a cup of tea was the same price as a coffee, she required a second cup, so she called on the switched-on young staff at the Como to bring her a cup of boiling water. Of course they obliged and she proceeded to use her first, used tea bag for the second cuppa.

Weak tea perhaps, but free.
