Kerman Contracting has won an $18 million contract to build two sample preparation laboratories for the Roy Hill iron ore project.

One of the labs will be located at the port in Port Hedland, while the other will be closer to the Roy Hill mine site near Newman.

The scope of works includes civil and concrete works as well as structural, hydraulic, electrical and communications, fire protection and installing and commissioning robotics equipment.

“This project is important to us as it further our relationship with Samsung and Roy Hill after successfully completing the rail camps for the project back in 2012,” Kerman executive director Mark Nagle said.

“We look forward to working with Samsung and making this project a success.”
