WA Business News has bolstered its team of specialist commentators with the recruitment of experienced political journalist Peter Kennedy.

Mr Kennedy will be writing a weekly back-page column, analysing state and federal politics. As the ABC’s long-serving state political reporter, Mr Kennedy is not only well known across the state, he brings experience and insight to political analysis unsurpassed in WA.

Managing editor Mark Beyer said he was delighted Mr Kennedy had agreed to write a weekly column for the newspaper.

“With a federal election considered imminent, the timing could not be better, and long term he will provide in-depth analysis of political issues affecting business in WA,” he said.

Mr Kennedy joins business journalist Tim Treadgold, who writes the weekly Bystander column in the newspaper and has recently started writing a separate online column.

Political analyst Joe Poprzeczny will continue his weekly column for the newspaper, moving off the back page to page 27 this week.

These weekly columns complement the news articles and analysis written by WA Business News’ full-time journalists. This group includes editor-at-large Mark Pownall who brings more than 20 years’ experience in finance journalism in Perth and London to his role, and mining and resources expert John Phaceas.

Other regular contributors include Ron Cacioppe, managing director of leadership and management consultancy Integral Development, and Tim Mazzarol, Winthrop professor at UWA Business School.

International contributors include Verne Harnish, CEO of executive education and coaching business Gazelles Inc, and sales expert Jeffrey Gitomer.
