Keith John

KEITH John has been a major player in the state’s debt recovery sector for more than a decade. His company, Pioneer Credit, is a premium quality provider of professional debt recovery services in Australia and Malaysia and is represented across the globe through TCM Group international. The company has grown both organically and through acquisition, the most recent purchase being that of the Malaysian businesses of RMG in November 2005. Mr John says the business achievement of which he is most proud is the opening of his first international office, in Malaysia, in 1999. At the time, the debt recovery industry in Malaysia was in its infancy and he had little knowledge of the country or the market. Pioneer Credit Malaysia grew rapidly until its sale to RMG in 2000. Having bought the business back from RMG with a Malaysian business partner, Mr John has commenced winning new business with a renewed focus on service, professionalism and results. Restarting Pioneer Credit in 2003 is another career highlight, as the business has grown from nothing to become the largest business of its type in WA within two years. Pioneer Credit’s energy is now focused on creating programs to develop and nurture its teams, as well as recognising exceptional young talent and building them into business leaders of the future. The single most important behaviour that has guided his career is encapsulated in the motto ‘work harder, work longer, work better’. Community involvement has played a significant part in Mr John’s life and he gives generously both, in personal and professional capacities, to many worthy charities and groups.
