JWH taking over Renowned homes

NEWLY formed JWH Group will complete work on the 30 or so homes under construction by Renowned Homes, which was placed into voluntary administration earlier this month.

Kim Wallman was appointed as administrator on November 18.

Renowned Homes founder Rob Romberg was due to take over as general manager of BGC-owned homebuilder Perceptions.

He said the reasons for Renowned’s voluntary administration were long and complicated but did not want to elaborate much further.

“It was my departure from the company that brought it [voluntary administration] about at the end of the day,” Mr Romberg said.

He said he had been in discussions with a number of parties about taking on the homes Renowned had under construction when he made the move to Perceptions.

Perceptions had been one of the options under consideration for the homes, but that did not pan out, Mr Romberg said.

He said the offer BGC put on the table for him to become Perceptions general manager had been too attractive an opportunity to pass up.

Mr Wallman said he was still in the process of working out what had gone wrong with Renowned, however he hoped to have an answer in time for the second creditors meeting, due to be held by the middle of December.

“With JWH Group coming in it will protect the investment Renowned had in those homes under construction and ensure those homes get completed,” he said.

“Those people who were expecting to have their homes completed before Christmas may still achieve that.”

JWH Group and BGC are embroiled in legal action following JWH head Julian Walter’s departure from Len Buckeridge’s construction giant.
