AUSTRALIAN Assets Corporation has appointed Bill Ireland as managing director to spearhead the group’s expansion into investment banking and financial services.
Mr Ireland will take a 55 per cent equity in the group and oversee a name change to Mariner Financial Limited. Later this year a capital raising is planned to fund the growth strategy.
Mr Ireland was previously the founder and managing director of Challenger International, which is currently merging with CPH Investment Corp.
