WORK has started on the $2.2 million Technology Business Incubator at Kwinana, which has already caught the attention of international groups.

The Malaysian Government has shown strong interest in the incubator and negotiations have started to establish reciprocal usage rights between tenants at the Kwinana incubator and those at Malaysia’s Cyberjaya centre.

Due to be complete by late 2002, the incubator is designed to give technology-based businesses a head start by providing premises and services.

It is estimated the incubator will contribute $60 million to the Kwinana region over a 10-year period.
