A platform suspended about seven-storeys high has reportedly tilted two floors, causing the construction site at One Subiaco to be closed off.

There were no injuries in the incident which occurred this afternoon but the site has been closed for the recovery of the platform, which will be removed from the building.

Blackburne's One Subiaco is under construction, with Multiplex, at the former Pavillion Markets side on Rokeby Road and is expected to be completed by the end of this year.

The $300 million apartment block has three buildings - the six-storey Roberts building, five-storey Rokeby building and the 23-storey Seddon tower.

“Whilst removing the mast climber from the east side of the project the load held by the crane has moved and become unstable," a Multiplex spokesperson said.

"There have been no injuries or any major damage to the building. We have secured the area and there is no current risk to safety on our site or to neighbouring buildings.

"We are currently in the process of restabilising the load so that the mast climber can be safely removed from the project. Every precaution is being undertaken to ensure this operation is completed safely.”

Business News understands there was an exclusion zone underneath the platform, preventing workers from being nearby.

Blackburne confirmed the incident but was unable to comment.

CFMMEU representatives have visited the site.

WorkSafe has been contacted.
