THE Small Business Development Corporation will launch its new Women in Business network at the end of next month. Aimed at providing tailored resources to female small business owners across the state, the network will also provide online discussion forums and networking opportunities. Women play an active role in owning, operating and working in the small business sector, with about 35 per cent of small businesses in Western Australia operated by women. The launch of the network follows the release of the SBDC’s Women in Business book earlier this month, which featured the inspiring stories of 12 successful women in business. The network will operate similarly to other SBDC networks, such as the Home-Based Business Network and the Young Business Network.
