In Brief: Enrolments up – Navitas

EDUCATION services provider Navitas Ltd has announced strong growth in student enrolments for the first semester of 2008, with the equivalent full-time student unit (EFTSU) enrolment in the company’s university programs division at 11,469. This represents growth of 25 per cent on the first semester of 2007 EFTSU enrolment of 9,142. Navitas chief executive Rod Jones said the result not only reflected the positive trends in international education but also the company’s recruitment efforts. “Enrolments are obviously a key performance indicator for us and we’re pleased to report such strong figures from the most recent semester,” Mr Jones said. The largest markets by nationality for new enrolments were Australia, China, Hong Kong, India, Vietnam, South Korea, Malaysia, Sri Lanka, Indonesia and Pakistan. Excellent growth was recorded from China (54pc), India (77pc), Vietnam (142pc), South Korea (44pc) and Pakistan (118pc).
