ASX-LISTED information and communication technology company UXC Connect has opened a new office in Perth, led by WA state manager Chris Upstone.

The office, located on Level 14 of the Bankwest Tower, was established to consolidate UXC Connect’s presence in WA, and will house the company’s three WA divisions of Red Rock Consulting, Eclipse Computing and UXC Consulting. Mr Upstone has been the state manager for the past five years, and is also the company’s national mining and oil and gas manager.

He previously worked for Icon Communications, which was bought by UXC.

“By bringing the best of UXC’s local and national teams under one roof and leveraging the expertise of our global partners such as Cisco, NetApp and Alcatel-Lucent, we can continue to target new mining, oil and gas industries, selected large enterprises and Western Australian state and local government,” Mr Upstone said.

Red Rock is the largest Oracle consulting business in Australia and New Zealand, and announced last month that it was expanding into WA.

It currently has a staff of 20 consultants in the state, but plans to expand to 100 employees within the next year or so.
