SYDNEY company, Industrial Plant & Service Australia, has opened a service centre in Canning Vale to service its Western Australian customer base.

IPS will service the Kwinana industrial area and have closer access to remote clients on gold and nickel mines, as well as oil and gas facilities in the north-west and offshore.

IPS is involved in the sales and service of plant equipment for the petrochemical and mining industry, solar thermal power plants and rotating machinery.

The company services about 60 compressors and turbines in onshore and offshore installations in WA.

With many customers reluctant to transport this critical equipment interstate or overseas for servicing, IPS decided to locate itself closer to the customers.

IPS has established a team of senior field service and commissioning engineers, fitters and technicians to run the Canning Vale base.

The workshop is fitted with a 5.5-tonne low-speed dynamic balance machine, non-destructive testing equipment and a glass bead cleaning facility.

IPS is a subsidiary of Germany's MAN Ferrostaal AG.
