Handley wins BP laser contract

Handley Surveys has entered into a three-year agreement with BP Australia to supply its 3D laser scanning services in Western Australia.

Under the agreement, Handley will supply technical geospatial services and terrestrial laser scanning for the brownfield maintenance and greenfield expansion projects.

Handley is ranked 9th on the BNiQ surveyors list, with 25 surveyors employed in WA.

The company has offices in Bibra Lake and Karratha.

Handley said it had now been awarded structural, mechanical and piping, and terrestrial laser scanning contracts by BP, Woodside, BHP and Rio Tino.

Handley general manager Alex Handley said the contract provided long-term stability to the company and was welcomed after such a long downturn in the sector.

“To have clients like BP recognise the value offered by utilising our scan data and modelling for ‘first-timefit’ engineering is fantastic,” he said.

“Digital reality capture done the right way, with technical skill, is the future.”
