Emerging geothermal power producer Green Rock Energy, formerly Mokuti Mining, has successfully completed the first stage of its exploration evaluation for a geothermal energy project at Olympic Dam in South Australia.

Green Rock says it has taken a major step forward to becoming Australia's first commercial geothermal energy producer following its recently completed exploration programme.
"The evaluation has highlighted the potential for a vast resource of geothermal energy in the Olympic Dam area," the company said in a statement.
It believes there is sufficient energy to produce 1000 mega watts of electrical power for 20 years.
West Perth-based Mokuti Mining agreed to buy Green Rock and Perilya Geothermal Energy in April this year, and also changing its name to Green Rock Energy.
