AUSTRALIA’s wheat export regulation body is investigating whether a Perth-based grain trader may have exported wheat without a licence, the ABC reported last week.
According to the report the Wheat Export Authority is inquiring into public allegations that have been made about the Australian Foods Company wheat exports. However, a WEA spokesperson has told WA Business News he cannot reveal whether the authority is investigating the Australian Foods Company.
He said it was a matter of commercial confidence.
The spokesman said WEA was currently holding two investigations into breaches of wheat export licences but declined to elaborate.
