Good times keep premiers on a roll

South Australia’s Rann government and Tasmania’s Lennon government were re-elected with solid majority control in parliament. The Labor party in South Australia won 45.7 per cent of the vote, with a massive swing of 9.3 per cent, and looks to hold at least 29 seats in the 47-seat lower house, seven more than previously and five more than it needs to govern in its own right. The Liberals suffered a 6.2 per cent swing against them and are likely to win just 14 seats. In Tasmania, the Labor party won 49.6 per cent of the vote, and looks to hold 14 of the 25 seats in the lower house, despite a 2.3 per cent swing against it. The Liberals won seven seats, while the Greens won two.
