EQUIPMENT with the potential to dramatically improve the cost-effectiveness, safety and transport of liquid natural gas exports is being developed by Curtin University of Technology.
The Pressure Volume Temperature equipment – built by ST-Technologies in France – is the only fully automated, computerised system for measuring LNG properties without the use of mercury in the southern hemisphere.
The equipment is being developed by Curtin School of Chemical Engineering’s Robert Amin who said current LNG operations faced repeated problems due to limited experimental data in ‘real-life’ cryogenic conditions.
