Base metals company Galena Mining has provided an operations update amid its current voluntary suspension.

Earlier this month, the West Perth-based company told the market it would remain in suspension until a strategic review into its capital re-structure and shareholder value had been finalised.

Due to heavy rain at its flagship Abra base metals mine, ore processing has been impacted since March 9.

"The mined and processed grade continues to be lower than planned due to ongoing modelling and operational variances," Galena's managing director Tony James said.

"The mine has brought forward a mill re-line which was initially scheduled for April with the view of achieving a continuous processing block in the coming weeks once the road is re-opened."

As it stands, Abra has around 2,500 tonnes of lead concentrate, along 70,000t of mill feed stockpiled at the facility for future processing.

Galena also endured production issues due to inclement weather at Abra in May last year.
