GRD Minproc branches out

Tuesday, 25 November, 2003 - 21:00

INTERNATIONAL mineral engineering and construction company GRD Minproc has announced plans to form a new asset management business.

While retaining fabrication and manufacturing operation GRD Kirfield, the maintenance and operation services will now be provided by the new asset management business under the GRD Minproc name.

The new business will employ about 50 trade service personnel and 10 management, or supervision, personnel.

Former WMC engineer and KAEFER executive director Peter Kelsall has been appointed to head up the business.

GRD Minproc chief executive officer Dario Amara said the new venture would build on the company’s current services.

GRD Minproc is experiencing a period of solid growth,” he said.

“The asset management capability and the appointment of Peter Kelsall will assist in this growth by completing the comprehensive range of services we currently offer.”

Mr Kelsall, who started this week, said he expected the business to be fully operational by early next year.

He said the opportunity for the business had been identified as a gap in the services GRD Minproc currently offered.

Mr Kelsall said no estimates were available on how much the business would cost to establish.
