GR Engineering Services has been contracted for work on Eni Australia’s Blacktip Gasfield operations in the Timor Sea, with the value of the work undisclosed.

Perth-based GR Engineering subsidiary Upstream Production Solutions will provide maintenance services for an initial three-year term, with the scope of work including the administration and execution of maintenance activities, logistics, procurement, engineering and operations support on the unmanned Blacktip wellhead platform and the associated onshore Yalcherr gas plant.

The gas field is located in the Timor Sea’s Bonaparte Basin, 110 kilometres off the coast of northern Australia.

“The Blacktip Gasfield supplies gas for domestic power generation in the Northern Territory and Upstream PS is proud to be associated with this regionally significant project,” Upstream PS managing director Joe Corvetti said.

“We will be drawing upon our specialist operations and maintenance capability to work with Eni and support safe and efficient production.”

GR Engineering shares were 4.2 per cent higher to $1.70 at the close.
