GR Engineering Services has secured work on another gold project in Western Australia, taking its total EPC contracts this year to more than $300 million.

Today, the company announced it had been awarded with a $73 million engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contract from privately owned Aurenne Group to complete work on the Mt Ida project in the eastern Goldfields.

GR expects to start the work immediately.

“This project further reinforces GR Engineering’s reputation as the leading gold EPC contractor in Australia,” managing director Geoff Jones said.

Mt Ida is the company's fifth EPC-related contract announcement this year.

GR Engineering was recently contracted by Northern Star Resources and Pantoro Resources for $101 million and $60 million, respectively, to complete work on the Thunderbox mine and Norseman project in the eastern Goldfields.

In March, the Ascot-based contractor finalised a $75.5 million agreement with Calidus Resources for work on the new Warrawoona mine in the east Pilbara. Most recently, it was named as the preferred tenderer for Bardoc Gold's namesake project near Kalgoorlie.

GR Engineering shares were up 1 per cent at 11:53am AEST to trade at $1.79 each.
