GHD engineer Kim McFarland was nominated in three categories of the Engineering Elite survey, including for his role as a mentor of engineering graduates.
Mr McFarland has nearly nine years’ work experience – with the Water Corporation, the WA21 alliance, machining and fabrication company Madco and presently GHD.
He is presently working as part of the Beenyup Alliance, which comprises GHD, Leighton Contrac-tors, Black & Veatch and the Water Corporation.
Mr McFarland has been working on the $43 million Beenyup project for nearly a year, initially as GHD’s lead design engineer during the tendering phase.
Along with other members of the alliance, he now works on-site as mechanical construction supervisor.
GHD’s graduate engineer has been working on site with Mr McFarland on the Beenyup project.
During his 12-month stint with Madco, a machining, fabrication and rotable equipment repair shop in Henderson, he was responsible for supervising the company’s graduate engineer and wrote the company’s graduate development program.
