Ford goes to Macmahon

Welshpool-based contracting and services group Macmahon Holdings Ltd has announced the appointment of Escor Group advisory board chairman Barry Ford to the board as a non executive director.

In a statement released to the stock exchange, Macmahon chairman Dick Carter said Mr Ford's corporate finance experience and IT knowledge would be a great asset to the board.

The majority of Mr Ford's career was spent with General Motors Corporation in both Australia and North America. He held various positions including director of financial analysis and planning for general motors overseas operations in Detroit. In Australia, he was treasurer and finally director of finance and strategic planning for General Motors Holden Ltd. At the current time Mr Ford holds a representative position, based in Sydney, for General Motors Holden Limited.

During the 1990s Mr Ford was director of finance and chief financial officer of Goodman Fielder Limited, chief financial officer of Southcorp Holdings and finance director of Pratt Industries Pty Ltd.

He has also held board positions on the National Heart Foundation (VIC) and the Australian Red Cross (NSW Division).

Mr Ford will attend his first Macmahon board meeting in August.

The Directors of MACMAHON HOLDINGS LIMITED (MACMAHON) are pleased to announce that Mr Barry Ford had accepted an invitation to join the Board of Directors.

Mr Ford's significant broad-based experience will enhance the Board's capacity to guide the rapidly growing Group.

His corporate finance experience, together with his knowledge of information technology and the management of corporate structures will be a tremendous asset at Board level.

Mr Ford will provide a new perspective on a range of issues as the many opportunities that are presented to a successful, growing organisation are explored.

He is currently Chairman of the Advisory Board of Escor Group and also Chairman of Think Tank Pty Ltd.
