Five 40under40 winners on BRW Young Rich List

Eight Western Australians, including five 40under40 winners, have made the 2014 BRW Rich List with a collective wealth of $337 million.
They are, in order of most wealth, property developer Ronnie Elhaj, tech entrepreneur Zhenya Tsvetnenko, engineering services founder Luke Herbert, gold mining boss Bill Beament, property developer Marcus Gilmore, accountant John Palermo, tech entrepreneur Ruwan Weerasooriya, and actor Sam Worthington.
40under40 winner from 2008, Ronnie Elhaj, is worth $68 million and ranked 32nd on the BRW Young Rich list of 100 wealthiest Australians under the age of 40.
Mr Elhaj owns just over a third of WA property development company Nicheliving, formerly known as Australian Property Alliance.
40under40 winner from 2011, Zhenya Tsvetnenko, is worth a reported $67 million, making him the 33rd richest young Australian.
Mr Tsvetnenko recently co-founded and floated bitcoin company digitalBTC on the ASX and is believed to be preparing a second IPO for software group Mpire Media later this year.
Luke Herbert, founder and managing director of Linkforce Engineering is worth a reported $59 million, making him the 34th richest young Australian.
Linkforce started with 10 people in 2007 and has grown to have more than 1,100 people delivering maintenance and engineering services across WA, particularly in the mining sector.
40under40 winner from 2013, Bill Beament, is worth a reported $42 million, making him the 44th richest young Australian.
The managing director of Northern Star Resources has helped grow the gold mining company into Australia’s second biggest gold miner.
According to BNiQ data Mr Beament also moved up the ranks of richest WA directors by listed shareholdings value from 82 last year to 41 this year.
His shares in Northern Star Resources were worth $19 million in 2014, up from $9.7 million last year.
40under40 winner from 2006, Marcus Gilmore, is worth a reported $35 million, making him the 56th richest young Australian.
Mr Gilmore is the owner of the Newman hotel and founded residential property marketing and manager MLG Realty.
40under40 winner from 2009, John Palermo, is worth a reported $22 million, making him the 93rd richest young Australian.
Mr Palermo heads up Palermo Chartered Accountants and is an honorary representative of Uruguay.
Ruwan Weerasooriya is worth a reported $22 million, making him the 95th richest young Australian.
Mr Weerasooriya is the founder and chief executive of Rewardle Holdings, a digital iteration of the loyalty card schemes used by many small and medium businesses, which also links with social media, mobile ordering and payment and prepayments.
Sam Worthington is worth a reported $22 million, making him the 96th richest young Australian.
Mr Worthington grew up in Perth and attended the John Curtin School of Performing Arts in Fremantle before eventually embarking on an international film career including starring roles in Avatar and Clash of the Titans.
