Fish’n’chips the McDonald’s way

MCDONALD’S creator Ray Croc and dinner in a posh London fish and chip shop was all the inspiration Fish Feast managing director Frank Coniglio needed to set up his own franchise.

Mr Coniglio said the London store’s cleanliness, great product and efficient service remind-ed him of that other great franchise, McDonalds.

After years in Perth’s fast food industry, Mr Coniglio sensed the opportunity and decided to reproduce the London store’s quality in Perth.

The result was Fish Feast which offers ‘traditional’ fish and chips in modern, clean stores.

Five years ago, Mr Coniglio established his first store in Maylands and now has seven in the metropolitan area with more on the way.

Wanting to expand, but baulking at the prospect of being heavily in debt, he decided that franchising was the ideal method of fulfilling the dream.

Now planning to open four or five stores per year in Perth, his ambition of a McDonalds-like fish and chip franchise is coming ever closer to fruition.
