WA-BASED ‘fingerprint’ technology distributor Triton Resources has formed a strategic alliance with Melbourne-based Computer Detection Systems.

Triton is the Australian distributor of SAFLINK biometric fingerprint technology.

CDS designs, manufactures and markets a series of products and integrated systems including hotel systems, access control systems and other specific original equipment manufacture (OEM) applications.

Triton Resources chairman Rob Rey-nolds said the potential uses of SAFLINK technology in authorising secure access were extensive.

Possible applications include hotel guest registration and guest room access

– currently being independently tried by Hilton hotels globally

– and multi-storied office and general door access control.

The company also produces elevator access control systems, time management

systems, smart card technology, infectious waste management

systems and dynamic car park systems.

CDS managing director Michael Silberberg said adding the SAFLINK biometric technology to the existing range of CDS products would boost market appeal, particularly in Asian countries where CDS is already exporting.
