Subiaco-based FIRM Construction has secured the works to design and build a 10-storey apartment block opposite Carousel Shopping Centre.

The $49 million project, Elements at Carousel, is wholly owned by Singaporean boutique developer Jean Yip Holdings and managed by South Perth company Exal Group.

Element is one of the first residences approved for short-term accommodation in Cannington, with the City of Canning having endorsed the project for Airbnb use.

The 114-apartment building will have four commercial lots on the ground floor, a rooftop terrace, residents’ lounge and gym, vertical gardens, and secured parking.

The block is also within walking distance to the City of Canning’s recently completed Wharf Street Basin community park.

Exal Group director Bay Yeo said FIRM Construction was appointed to the project based on its commercial competitiveness, value-adding ability, and overall track record.

The business is also working on Exal’s $17 million Eden on Risely apartment building, in Ardross.

FIRM construction manager Kai Tonkin said the business could deliver Elements at Carousel on time and within budget.

“We are proud to be part of this exciting project, delivering high-end apartments to the market with a focus on functionality and good in-house amenities,” he said.

The project is in its design stage, with construction expected to begin in June.
