Gage Roads chief executive Nick Hayler has resigned, with chief financial officer John Hoedemaker stepping into the top job.

Mr Hayler served as chief executive for four years, overseeing the company’s rise from a loss-making venture to profitability this year.

Mr Hoedemaker is one of the founders of Gage Roads and also played a key role in the company’s transformation, chairman Ian Olson said.

Messrs Hayler and Hoedemaker were instrumental in securing Woolworths as a cornerstone investor and major contract customer, resulting in a change of business model to a low-cost contract brewer, Mr Olsen said.

“The board thanks Nick for his outstanding contribution to the company,” he said.

“Over the past few years his vision and leadership were on show at a time when the strategy of the business was in question.

“The company’s subsequent achievements are a testament to Nick’s dedication and commitment.”
