Payment Gateways Workshop

The Internet Business Corporation is running a free workshop titled Payment Gateways, on Thursday January 29, at their premises at 116 Edward Street, Perth.

The workshop will provide participants with a basic overview of what exactly a payment gateway is and how they work and the processes involved in establishing and maintaining a successful payment gateway.

Topics that will be covered during the workshop include payment gateway options, security issues and requirements for payment gateways, how to utilise payment gateways successfully as an e-commerce tool and understanding the relationship between your payment gateway and your site.

China Opportunities Presentation

On Thursday January 29, the Australia China Business Council in conjunction with the Department of Industry and Resources is holding a Chinese banquet to celebrate the Chinese New Year followed by a presentation titled China Opportunities for the Future at the China House Restaurant.

The evening will consist of an eight course Chinese banquet with beer and wine provided and will feature a presentation from Department of Industry and Resources director general Jim Limerick on the opportunities for business in China, followed by a panel discussion and question time.

On Friday January 30, UWA Extension is conducting a workshop entitled Negotiation at Work, at the UWA Campus in Nedlands.

The workshop has been designed to provide participants with the principles and techniques of preparing and conducting negotiations that lead to success, as well as learning to take control and create solutions that benefit all paries involved.

Topics that will be covered during the workshop include strategies and tactics that can be used to achieve your objectives; planning concessions and selling their benefits; assessing the other side’s strengths and weaknesses; deadlocks and how to break them; and closing the negotiation successfully and maintaining a good ongoing relationship.
