Endeavour not selling Prime: Carr

Tuesday, 12 October, 2004 - 22:00

PRIME Health Group general manager Julie Carr has denied rumours that Prime’s parent company, Endeavour Healthcare, is selling the occupational health business.

Ms Carr told WA Business News this week Endeavour Healthcare is looking to divest its interests in other businesses, but was keeping Prime Health Group within its portfolio.

“The broader entity is looking to divest some of its interests but that does not effect Prime,” she said.

Endeavour Healthcare owns about 12 general practices in WA, as well as pathology business Accord diagnostics.

Endeavour Healthcare bought Prime Health Group in 2000 as it began a major push into the medical arena across the country, attracting investment from Kerry Packer.

It intended to list on the Australian Stock Exchange but those plans have never come to fruition.

Endeavour Healthcare sold its Corporate Health Group in South Australia last year.
