IT services provider Empired has grown its energy sector portfolio with the award of a $10 million contract by regional utility Horizon Power.

The scope of work involves management of core infrastructure and networks, service desk and service management, security and management of workplace services including tablet and mobile phone devices.

The contract is for an initial three-year term, with options for an additional two years.

Empired managing director Russell Baskerville said the company was proud to be partnering with Horizon.

“I am confident that Empired will play an important role in providing services and solutions to Horizon Power to enable their business, in this digital era, for the future,” he said.

Horizon managing director Frank Tudor said the contract was a key part of the company’s major business transformation program.

“We look to this partnership with Empired to assist us in harnessing technology to drive efficiency, productivity and competitive advantage into our organisation,” he said.

Horizon Power is committed to providing safe and reliable power to regional and remote Western Australia and the adoption of leading technologies is critical in underpinning this commitment.”

In late September, Empired was awarded a $12 million contract to provide similar services to Western Power.
