Edge Visionary Living has unveiled its plans for a $70 million, seven-storey apartment development in Crawley, with plans to build next year.

The Gavin Hawkins-led developer would be adding to its stable of high-end apartment complexes by building the seven-level, 21-apartment development opposite Steve’s Bar and Café in Nedlands.

It has lodged plans with the City of Perth to develop on the 1,413 square metre site at 168 Broadway, where an existing apartment building would have to be demolished.

Hillam Architects, which partners with Edge Visionary Living to design their projects, has designed the waterfront project.

Mr Hawkins told Business News the apartments would add to the luxury apartment products in the area.

“While there are a number of other developments currently planned for Nedlands, 168 Broadway is the only one that benefits from the unique parkland and riverfront setting,” he said.

“This project will resonate with our discerning owner occupier clientele who will appreciate the convenience of being able to walk the short distance to local shopping and recreational amenities, the magnificent parkland and river views, and the easy connection and proximity to the vibrancy of the city.”

The developer, also behind the planned $220 million OBH Cottesloe apartment project, Floreat’s Eden apartments and the $120 million Lumiere development in South Perth, is aiming for approval later this year.

“This would allow construction to commence towards the middle of next year,” Mr Hawkins said.
