The Cooperative Research Centres Association is holding its annual conference, this year focusing on innovation, May 16-18 at the Perth Convention Exhibition Centre. A variety of international and national speakers will share their perspectives on science and technology innovation. Topics to be discussed include assessing the benefits of cooperative research and innovation, capturing creativity, technology transfer and adoption, and the policy arena. Keynote speakers include: Norman Augustine - retired chairman and CEO, Lockheed Martin Corporation (US); Prof Tim Brown - dean of the College of Science; professor of statistics, Australian National University; Dr Byung-in Choe - director, Office of Strategic Planning, Samsung Medical Centre (Korea); Prof Anil Gupta – executive vice-chairman, National Innovation Foundation (India); Dr Jim Peacock, Australia’s chief scientist; Prof Leo Tan - president, Singapore National Academy of Science; professor, National Institute of Education, Nanyang Technological University; David White - director of lifelong learning, education and training policy education and culture; Directorate General, European Commission (Belgium); and Anthony S. K. Wong - commissioner for innovation and technology, Innovation and Technology Commission, The Government of Hong Kong Special Administrative Region of the People’s Republic of China.
