THE Note is pleased to announce that WA Beer Week 2006 has arrived! Sponsored by the Western Australian Brewers Association, the event is here to promote and encourage people to experience microbrewery beer. Like we need much encouraging! From Monday June 5 to Sunday June 11, Clancy’s Fish Pub in Fremantle wants the public to come along and meet some renowned local brewers and taste some of their handy work. The following brewers will be present at Clancy’s from 6-7pm: • Simon Bretherton (Little Creatures) – Monday June 5 • Dan Turley (Mash Brewing) – Tuesday June 6 • Brendan Varis (Feral Brewing) – Wednesday June 7 • Hugh Dunn (Old Swan Brewery) – Thursday June 8 • John Stallwood (Nail Brewing) and Jan Bruckner (Last Drop Brewery) – Friday June 9 There will be an extensive range and styles of handcrafted beers available at Clancy’s produced by WA’s top microbreweries, many of whom have won awards at the recent Australian International Beer Awards in Melbourne and World Beer Cup overseas. You’re sure to find a favourite, with a selection of ales from microbreweries including Bootleg Brewery, Elmars in the Valley, Feral Brewery, Gage Roads, Jarrah Jacks, Last Drop, Little Creatures, Mash Brewery, Matso’s Broome, Old Swan Brewery, the Sail and Anchor and Wicked Ale Brewery.
