Decmil wins $57m in defence contracts

The federal government has awarded $57 million in defence contracts to Perth-based company Decmil Group.

The contracts are for work on defence facilities in Western Australia, Queensland, and the Northern Territory.

The company will upgrade the fuel infrastructure of the RAAF Learmonth base in WA, as well as build replace a number of apartment blocks at the base.

Also in WA, Decmil received three contracts to perform repairs on fuel installations at HMAS Stirling on Garden Island.

Decmil will construct an urban operations training facility and explosives hazards training area at the Wide Bay Training Area, 180 kilometres north of Brisbane.

Managing director Scott Criddle said the company would continue to target opportunities with government departments.

“Decmil is delighted to be partnering with the Department of Defence on these important contracts and this new work demonstrates our capability to deliver integrated engineering and construction projects for government,” he said.

Decmil shares were up 3 per cent to $1.082 at 10am this morning Perth time.
