PERTH-based diamond explorer Majestic Re-sources NL will make a decision by June 2000 whether to undertake full scale mining on two targets on the Pniel Estate diamond project.
The company has outlined seventeen million tonnes of potential diamondiferous gravels on the project, located on the southern bank of the Vaal River, thirty kilometres north west of Kimberley in the district of Barkley West, South Africa.
Trial mining commenced last December on the Droogveld extension area where a bulk sampling plant was commissioned to test the gravels for diamonds.
A second plant to test upper central Rooikoppie gravels was due to commence in February.
The company reports it is also searching for new projects with visits planned to properties in the Barkley West area.
