WA success story Dynamic Digital Depth, which moved its corporate headquarters from Bentley’s Technology Park to the US last year, has teamed up with Germany-based 4S-Vision GmbH to speed up the delivery of glasses-free 3D to market.
DDD’s technologies provide solutions for converting 2D material to stereo 3D, optimising 3D for all screen sizes from large format film to the PC, and transmitting 3D content via the Internet, film, TV, DVD and CD.
Under a memorandum of understanding, DDD will integrate its patented 2D compatible 3D delivery solutions with 4D-Vision’s multi-viewer flat-panel display technologies.
The result will be a unique multi-viewer display enabling consistent quality 3D images from a wide viewing angle.
Nationwide pay TV via the net
ACCESS1 Pay Television Pty Ltd, an entity associated with Access1, has been allocated 30 subscription television broadcasting licences by the Australian Broadcasting Authority.
APT will provide broadcast services to home and business subscribers via satellite, cable, DSL and other transmission technologies. Using Internet protocol (IP) streaming transmission technology provided by Access1, the services will be available throughout Australia for display on both personal computers and TV sets.
Programming is expected to include finance, sport, shopping, adult, training, music and documentaries.
Access1 achieved a world first when it broadcast two channels of the Olympics using IP technology.
Winning the media game
8M Media & Communications is repeating its successful Are You Winning The Media Game? one-day training workshop on October 25.
The workshop was devised by 8M managing director Thomas Murrell, who conducted more than 10,000 interviews for radio, TV, print and wire services during a career with the ABC.
Mr Murrell said many businesses were missing out on valuable marketing and promotional opportunities due to poor media performances.
Seven news chief resigns
CHANNEL Seven Perth’s news and current affairs director John Le Cras has resigned.
Mr Le Cras plans to pursue a career with HBF’s management team.
Seven’s managing director Chris Wharton said Mr Le Cras would complete his contract with Seven, which expires at the end of the year.
